#WestgateAttack WHAT YOU CAN DO


With yesterday’s attacks at Westgate Mall in Nairobi, several people and organizations have come forward to offer assistance to the victims, families and officers trying to contain the situation. You also can offer your assistance and help to the victims and families.

One, if you want to report a missing person use the Twitter Handle #RedCrossTrace and the hotline 0714820219

Secondly, if you want to donate blood you do not have to be in Nairobi to do it. The following areas around the country have blood donation centers:

•Kencom Bus Station in Nairobi

•Moi International Sports Centre Kasarani where the Safaricom Sevens is taking place

•Eldoret-Regional Blood Transfusion Centre

•Bungoma-Sharrif Centre

•Kisumu-Blood Transfusion Centre next to the New Nyanza Provincial Hospital

•Naivasha-District Hospital

•Mombasa-Koblenz hall

•Embu- Regional Blood Transfusion Center

Conditions to donate

-You must be over 16 years

-Must be healthy

-Should not be having any bleeding condition or be menstruating for females.

-Should not be having high blood pressure

-Pregnant mothers are not eligible

-Should not have had a body piercing in the last 6 months

-Should weigh more than 50 Kgs

Thirdly, you can make monetary donations to Red Cross for the victims through a Safaricom zero-rated number 848484.

Fourth, we must all join in prayer for the victims, their families and our nation Kenya. We are grateful for the great work that the army and the police are doing. Let’s remain united as one nation. GOD BLESS KENYA
