as i place my head on his chest
i could hear his heart beat
in a rhythm so uniform
at times its faster, then it slows
at times it feels like it is silent
but its my mind drifting to certainties
his heartbeat
the rhythm of my soul
each beat i reflect
on how lucky i am, and how id want it
to never end
that heartbeat
to forever hear the heartbeat
is my forever wish
to the sound of his heart beating
comes my sleep
comes my sanity
comes my reality
