How can you describe yourself in a summarized manner?
Sucker for the witty droll.
When did your pen your first independent piece (away from school work)?
I rarely write (time and a case of argumentitis) however I did my first piece in 2009, while working in Kuresoi for about a month. It was based on the tribal clashes at the time and my reflections on how beautiful and desolate the place and its people were.
What inspires your writing?
I am inspired by people and their interactions, or lack thereof.
Apart from writing what else do you do?
I am in Legal practice and I ramble on all things ‘legal’ in my free time.
Do have any a.k .a s? Stage name?
No, Njeri’s just fine.
What do you think is man’s greatest invention?
The Microwave. If I may add, I think Cheese is the greatest discovery ever!
Who is that person you’ve always admired and why?
I admire my Father. I owe a great deal of what I am (ever-smiling, rambling workaholic) to him. Most importantly, that he’s taught me to find peace amidst the madness.
If the world ends tomorrow. What do you do till then?
Dabble in some serious epicurean revelry that has a lot of cheese with my family. Wear all my watches. Write something. Put it in a bottle. Sit and wait.
If you were a cartoon character, who would that be?
Chowder

Capricious. Impassioned. Balanced

What’s your preference? Writing or performing (poetry)? Why?
Both. They are the best way of living in the “now-now’s”
If you could choose a career without education and stuff, you’d be?
A Mixologist ☺, but seriously, anything law-related. Couldn’t think of doing anything else.
What do you think of the Kenyan creative and artistic industry?
It’s quite impressive how the Kenyan Creative and Artistic industry has grown as a knowledge economy and a trade contributor. It is good business.
