We had a chat with Kibali Moreithi our featured poet this is what he had to say

How can you describe yourself in a
summarized manner?

I’m talkative, but that depends with
who i’m with. I’m irritable too, but i love
to make friends. I’m a total foodie!

When did u pen ur first
independent piece (away from school
work)?

I
was 13 and in form one. Then I
discovered I could write songs and
poetry was shelved!

what inspires your writing ?

I’m inspired by
what my enviroment evokes in me.

Apart from writing what else do
you
do?

I
was a communication and PR student,
i’ll finish my last year when I’m able to.
I’m a wannabe singer/songwriter /
writer/poet. I’m
unemployed

do have any a.k .a s? Stage name?

Kibali is my a.k .a, my
name is Mwangi. Muriithi’s the
surname.

What do you think is man’s
greatest
invention?

Thats a tie between the
internet, electricity, cars and musical
instruments!

Who is that person you’ve always
admired and why?

I admire creatives!
Singers mostly. Go figure.

The world ends tomorrow. What
do
you do till then?

Before the
world ends, I’d pray, share a meal with
my family, then head to the sea shore
to watch the waves ebb and flow while
humming or talking to myself.

If you were a cartoon character,
who
would that be?

I’d be cow from ‘cow and chicken’. Or
blue. Don’t ask.

Three words to describe your brain

brain. .. Hmmm
interesting, strange, multitasker!

That song that never gets boring to
your ears?

I’m
a total musicaholic! Yani, I’m that guy
that’s singing at 3 am! Sijui njibu vipi!

What’s your preference? Writing Or
performing (poetry)?

I’ve never performed poetry! Until
the blog came, i’d write poems for my
facebook friend’s. So sad.

If you could choose a career
without education and stuff, you’d be?

I’d be a
singer/songwriter/ writer and the
owner of an eatery. I’m that predictable.

what do you think of the Kenyan
creative and artistic industry?

Technically i’m not in the industry so
I cant be objective. But I’d say that
Kenya is awash with talent, my circle of
friends alone is ample proof!

Any
random question that you’d like to ask
the world?

‘why
so serious?’ no wait, ‘why so
hypocritical?’ wakenya tuna unafiki
mwingi sana!
