We had a few questions for our featured writer / poetess Aisha Salim. These are the answers she gave:

How can described yourself in a summarized manner?

  • Summarize me? Lord why? Anyway I am adventurous, quirky and of course fun, a little Gothic too… in summary.

When did you pen your first independent piece (away from school work)?

  •  I2 or 14 I think. Terrible I tell you . It was a love poem.

 What inspires your writing ?

  • A lot actually, I have a muse who whispers things to me… I write those things down. Its like a hypnosis session but without the pendant.

Apart from writing what else do you do?

  •  Random fun stuff like chess and sleeping and eating and playing air guitar.

Do you have any A.K.As/stage names ?

  • Nope, why would I? I love my name!!!

What do you think is man’s greatest invention?

  • say it with a lisp if u wanna… escalators. 😉 😉

Who is that person you’ve always admired and why?

The world ends tomorrow. What do you do till then?

  • Jack a plane to Seychelles may the world end when I’m in my fave place in the world.

If you were a cartoon character, who would that be?

  •  Juniper Lee, kick butt and look good about it.

Three words to describe your brain…

  •  Cold dark and dreary. Kidding thirsty, avid and  hankering…  4 words!

That song that never gets boring to your ears?

  • “Angels” -Diddy  & Dirty Money… Diddy can sing!

What’s your preference? Writing Or performing (poetry)?

  •  Writing, I am scared of crowds.

If you could choose a career without education and stuff, what would you be?

  •   Professional-snorkeler 🙂 🙂

What do you think of the Kenyan creative and artistic industry?

  •   Getting there, slowly, but getting there.

Any random question that you’d like to ask the world?

  • Don’t you think the silence is worse than all the violence?
